New Schemas

OTA_GolfRateRQ/RS: This new schema pair provides functionality for exchanging tee time rates.

Significant Schema Updates

Air Merchandising Offers: OpenTravel is pleased to announce support for the exchange of air merchandising offer information in air booking bath, seat management and flight details messages. The new AirOfferChoiceType element allows the exchange of three categories of air merchandising offers within these messages: 1) Summary air offer information with no pricing; 2) Detailed air offer information with pricing; and 3) Purchased Offers.

GroundTransportation: Additional information was added for pickup, interim stop and drop off locations including: relative positioning (geocoding); an implementer-extensible list of location types (including Company, Hotel, PointOfInterest and Port); location name; special instructions; and formatted directions. Additionally, support for shuttle service was added, including: multiple stops; owner & operator information; operation schedules; and ticketing & reservation information.

General Schema Maintenance
In an effort to reduce XML schema binding issues, general maintenance was performed on the 2012A schema. General maintenance functionality includes: namespaced common files; eliminating nested attributeGroups; changing enumerated base types from xs:NMTOKEN to xs:string; changing maxOccurs to unbounded for containers with more than one occurrence; enforcing xs:boolean indicator naming conventions; and adding additional schema extensions at the complexType level.

Support for secure information exchange has been added.

§ Support for encrypted payment and account information has been added to the specification.
§ Support for payment instrument tokenization has been added to the specification to make it easier for diverse systems to comply with PCI regulations and keep cardholder data secure. If you are not familiar with tokenization, you can find more information at http://www.shift4.com/tokenization.cfm.
